What: Seattle Art Museum
The
Seattle Art Museum (commonly known as "SAM") is an art museum located
in Seattle, Washington, USA. It maintains three major facilities: its main
museum in downtown Seattle; the Seattle Asian Art Museum (SAAM) in Volunteer
Park on Capitol Hill, and the Olympic Sculpture Park on the central Seattle waterfront,
which opened on January 20, 2007. The SAM collection has grown from 1,926
pieces in 1933 to nearly 25,000 as of 2008.

located on First Avenue on the corner of Union Street.
-Directions
- Heading North: I-5 to Seneca Street exit (#165), west on Seneca Street to First
Avenue, and turn right (north).
- Heading South: I-5 to Union Street exit (#165B), west (toward Puget Sound) on
Union Street to First Avenue.
- From I-90:
Heading west, merge onto I-5 North, take Madison Street exit (#2C). Turn
left on Madison and right on First Avenue.

Request a discount voucher at the SAM Ticketing Desk to apply as you leave the garage. The garage is about 4 blocks from SAM’s 1st Avenue and Union Street entrance, with entrance on Stewart Street, between 2nd and 3rd Avenues.
